1 Strategy Overview
The ORB strategy marks the first 1-hour candle (9:15–10:15) as the Opening Range and trades breakouts in either direction. It holds positions overnight for swing-style gains.
2 Opening Range Setup
- First 1-hour candle of the day defines the range
- Opening Range High = first candle's high
- Opening Range Low = first candle's low
- Range is set once and fixed for the day
3 Entry Signal
Long Entry (Bullish Breakout)
Triggered when a subsequent 1-hour candle closes above the Opening Range High.
Short Entry (Bearish Breakdown)
Triggered when a subsequent 1-hour candle closes below the Opening Range Low.
4 Stop-Loss
Stop-loss is set at 0.3% from entry price.
Example: Long entry at 24,500 → SL = 24,500 × 0.997 = ₹24,426.50
5 Risk Management
- Maximum 1 entry per day
- Stop-loss placed as SL-Limit order immediately after entry
- Positions can carry overnight (swing-style)
- If already in a position, opposite signals close and reverse
